Dimitris Georgiou

Dimitrios is part of the Strategy & Transactions Advisory division at Deloitte with a focus on the Travel, Hospitality and Leisure (THL) sector. Furthermore, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Onassis Scholars' Association.
His previous roles include positions at organizations such as the SPDI (real estate fund), the European Central Bank and the Greek National Tourism Organization. Over recent years, Dimitrios has contributed to more than 25 projects, ranging from UNWTO research to shaping sustainable tourism strategies. His initiatives include founding Dishcover, a food tourism start-up featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 (GR), and launching Mangata Seaside, a mission-driven boutique hotel.
Dimitrios stands out for his multidisciplinary approach, combining finance, tourism, culture and technology. His interests focus on utilizing cutting-edge technology and innovative governance/funding models to enhance the unique attributes of locations for greater societal impact and resilience. His work has been recognized through honors, such as his selection as a delegate for the World Bank Group Youth Summit (2023) and his distinction as a finalist in the UK Study Alumni Awards (2024).
He holds an MPhil in Finance from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Accounting and Finance from the Athens University of Business and Economics (valedictorian), where he founded the first Investment and Finance club in Greek University.
Lastly, he is member of the Panionios swimming team (masters), while he volunteers as mentor in schools (e.g. Tipping Point for Education) and innovation events (e.g. Greentech Challenge).
