Ioannis T. Christou

Ioannis T. Christou, Ph.D. holds a Dipl.Ing. in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, USA, and an MBA from the AthensMBA joint program of the school of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA and the Business Administration Dept of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He has more than 25 years of work experience. He has worked for many large corporations in Greece and the US, including Lucent Technologies Bell Labs, Delta Technology Inc., Intracom S.A., Intralot S.A., Intrasoft Intl., and Velti.net. He has also taught in many Universities in Greece, Europe and USA (UW-Madison, Carnegie-Mellon University, Aalborg University, Patras University, and the Democritus University of Thrace).
He is a Sr. Research Data Scientist at the Dept. of Research and Innovation Development at Netcompany-Intrasoft, and an Associate Professor at the Dept. of Information Technology of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the American College of Greece. He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and he is the sole author of a book published by Springer. His research interests are in machine learning, optimization algorithms for machine learning and deep learning, and parallel computing for high-performance systems.
