Sotiris Karagiannis is the Chief Innovation Officer of Space Hellas Group of Companies. He is one of the first Greeks to study AI in the 90s and holds a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (AI & CS Honors 1993) from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

In his 35+ years career in Information Technology he has been an early (1995) Internet entrepreneur exiting his first business before 2000, has held senior management executive positions and was a pioneer in designing and implementing SaaS and Cloud Enterprise Solutions on Application monitoring, Security and intelligent systems.

He’s a founding member of HEBAN Angel Network and is also mentoring / advising technology startups in Europe and Silicon Valley on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Blockchain. He maintains an exceptionally wide and diverse innovation and business network of people across Europe and the USA since 2010 when he first started working with SV startups.

Sotiris is active on Social Media, posting about Startups, Venture Capital, Artificial Intelligence, The Future Of Work - Collaborative Knowledge Sharing and Safer Cities. He is an active supporter of DEI in the workplace and in entrepreneurship. His current passion is how to use AI big data and IoT to help women feel safe moving around in their cities or when travelling abroad via a #SafeCitiesForWomen initiative.
