Deputy Minister of the Interior

At the GenAI Summit, Vivi Charalaboyianni will share her insights on Greece’s groundbreaking reforms in public administration. Initially since 2019 as Secretary General for Human Resources of the Public Sector and afterwards since 2023 till now as Deputy Minister of the Interior, she is responsible for designing and implementing all human resources policies in the Greek public sector, which amounts approximately to 593.000 permanent employees, such as the radical redesign of the recruitment system, the introduction of a new performance management and goal-setting system linked with an employee reward system and several transparency initiatives. Among others, her portfolio includes the simplification and optimization of all the administrative procedures of the public sector and the regulation of Civil Society Organizations’ issues.

She holds a degree in political science and public administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MBA from the Hellenic Open University and is a PhD candidate for the administrative science and public law in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
